Garden clearing and minor landscaping project
This was the mess that needed transforming...
The trees you can see in the background had recently been trimmed back.
Taken from further back, this shot adds some perspective to the area needing cleared.
Once the site had been cleared of all the tree branches and rubbish, it already looked much tidier.
With everything cleared, there was now a blank canvass waiting to be improved.
This shot shows the cleared paving slabs on the left, and the area to the right to be filled with a mixture of gravel, stone slabs and planting.
As well as the main area being improved, there was to be a small veggie patch against the white wall on the right.
The opposite corner was to be the new home of summerhouse. The first stage was to lay a sand base and lay down some paving slabs to provide a level base.
With the summer house constructed, the new section of the garden was really coming together.
The last stage involved the laying of a variety of paving stones, and adding in some mixed planting.
Another shot showing the newly improved area looking to the rear of the garden.
The end result - a whole new area of the garden, to be enjoyed from the newly built summer house in the corner!
A new veggie patch
This time we'll concentrate on the new veggie patch seen briefly in the example above.
It was in this space here that the new veggie patch was to go.
With some border around the edges, and a path for access, the new veggie plots were ready to go.
Potatoes were the first crop to be grown in the new veggie patch.
Following a relocation of the garden shed, there was room to expand the veggie patch.
Here it is more recently, with potatoes, broccoli, green beans, red onions, and even some raspberries!
