A Little Bit More About Us...
Fiona, founder of Sunflower Gardening, was always destined for the outdoor gardening life. With a farmer's daughter for a mother, and a one time agricultural worker for a father, it was in her blood.
Holidays were often spent in the gardens of Grandma Carrie and Great Aunts Mary and Alice, or in the greenhouse hideaway of Grandad Alan.
So whether it was learning about native wild flowers, pulling out weeds, or pottering amongst the vegetables, the seeds were sown from an early age.
The passion for gardening really blossomed when Fi moved to Cheltenham, finding herself with more garden than ever before. She wasted no time in setting about her own garden's transformation - from clearing and weeding, to minor landscaping, the garden today is barely recognisable from when she moved to Arle.
Where once the bottom of the garden was 90% wood chipppings, it has been transformed into a landscaped area, with fresh garden planting, a mixture of gravel and paving stones, as well as a thriving vegetable patch.
Where once a less than attractive, rigid brick wall formed a border, the garden has a stone sculpture seating area set in slate, bounded by hand crafted living willow borders.
Having soaked up an encyclopaedic knowledge of plants and gardening Fi has realised she had literally outgrown her own garden, and has decided to apply her skills and knowledge wherever they might be needed.
